LIKE ANY AVID CROCHETER, I love yarn and thread. After I crochet a project, I always keep any odd ball or bits of leftover yarn and thread in case I need them later because I just know at some point they will be perfect for a variety of future projects!
In this issue, you'll find some great projects that use small amounts of yarn or thread. The leftover odds and ends in your stash might be the perfect materials to create some of these gems (and in so doing, you might be able to open up more room for new crochet supplies!).
In her fabulous Makeover Magic article, Darla Sims includes several patterns for making a variety of creative crochet trims to dress up your wearables -- perfect projects for using up bits and pieces of yarn and thread! The same is true for our fashionable Flower-of-the-Month Pins and chic Medallion Necklace.
I often think of the projects that I make from leftover yarns or threads as "memory keepers" because I'm reminded of the original sweaters, afghans, doilies and numerous other items I made with them, as well as the people who received them. Why not dig through your stash, browse through the tantalizing projects in this issue, and create some special "memory keepers" of your own? If a picture is worth a thousand words, a unique crochet creation lovingly made for someone special is priceless! Warm regards,
