Dig-It Flowerpot Cover

Projects made with granny squares or other motifs make good use of small amounts of yarn and result in colorful, fresh projects for spring and summer. Just about any flowerpot can be dressed up with crochet, and joined motifs are a great way to create matching pots from a hodgepodge of mismatched pots.

Cotton yarn creates a natural matte texture that beautifully complements green flowering plants. It's also washable, so you can use your flowerpot creations indoors or out. Acrylic or any other washable yarn may also be used.

Crochet! magazine

Designer Tammy Hildebrand is a well-known contributor to Crochet! magazine and other DRG publications. Like most designers, Tammy truly loves the options available with crochet. "The Dig-It Flowerpot Cover is the type of design that works up quickly with simple stitches and traditional construction," Tammy said. "It's almost instant gratification! This is my favorite kind of project for gift-giving since it is so quick and easy and gives such beautiful results.

"When I want to create a design requiring a little more thought and time," Tammy said, "I like to use a special technique or a variation in construction that stretches the mind just a bit. Such is the case with the Blue Blitz Jacket, which uses a number of different stitches worked in different directions. Having such a multitude of options with crochet is what keeps it fresh and exciting. There is always something new to discover!"
