Materials

  • DMC Cebelia crochet cotton size 10: 190 yds white #B5200, 122 yds light rose #3326, 130 yds lavender #210
  • DMC Cebelia crochet cotton size 20: 164 yds lavender #210
  • Size 7 steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
  • 3 large floral stamen centers
  • Floral tape
  • 26 (22-gauge) floral wires
  • 6 (18-gauge) floral wires
  • Large fern leaf spray
  • Off-white/forest green filler spray
  • Wire cutters
  • Vase
  • Floral foam brick to fit vase

Gauge

2 shell rows = 1 inch; 2 shells = 1 1/4 inches
Check gauge to save time.

Row 1: With white, ch 12, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each rem ch across, turn. (10 dc)

Row 2: Ch 3, [sk 2 sts, shell in next st] twice, dc in last st, turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, [shell over shell] twice, dc in last dc, turn.

Row 4: Ch 3, shell over shell, ch 1, shell over shell, dc in last dc, turn.

Row 5: Ch 3, shell over shell, V-st in ch-1 sp, shell over shell, dc in last dc, turn.

Row 6: Ch 3, shell over shell, shell over V-st, shell over shell, dc in last dc, turn.

Row 7: Ch 3, [shell over shell, ch 1] twice, shell over shell, dc in last dc, turn.

Row 8: Rep Row 7.

Row 9: Continuing with white, attach size 20 lavender cotton and working with both strands, ch 3, [shell over shell, ch 1] twice, shell in shell, dc in last dc, turn.

Row 10: Rep Row 7, fasten off white only.

Row 11: Continuing with lavender, attach light rose, working with both strands, ch 3, [shell over shell, ch 1] twice, shell over shell, dc in last dc, turn.

Row 17: Ch 3, sk next dc, dc dec over next 2 dc, sk next dc, dc in last dc, turn. (3 dc)

Row 18: Ch 2, [yo, insert hook in next dc, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] twice, yo, draw through all 3 lps on hook, fasten off.

Edging

With size 10 lavender cotton, work a row of sc evenly sp around edge of petal encasing folded 22-gauge wire with 3 sc in side edge of each row and 3 sc at tip of petal.

Finishing

Flowers
(Make 3)

With stamen and 18-gauge wire in center, tightly wrap 3 petals tog with floral tape; add last 3 petals spaced evenly among first group; wrap tightly.

Flower bud
(Make 2 sets)

Fold 2 petals slightly from top to bottom.

With 18-gauge wire in center, wrap with floral tape. Attach a 2nd bud 3 inches below first bud; cut wire and tape to main stem.

Insert foam brick into vase. Arrange flowers, buds, fern spray and filler spray in vase.
