Materials
- DMC Cebelia crochet cotton size 20 (416 yds/50g per ball):
- Size 11/1.10mm steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
- Ribbon:
- 63 inches 1 1/2-inch-wide for each Strap
Gauge
9 mesh = 2 inches, 10 rows = 2 inches
Special Stitches
Beginning mesh (beg mesh): Ch 5 (first 3 chs counts as first dc), sk next 2 sts or chs, dc in next st.
Mesh: Ch 2, sk next 2 sts or chs, dc in next st.
Block: Dc in each of next 3 sts or 2 dc in next ch sp, dc in next st.
Ribbon bar: Ch 20, sk next 20 sts and chs, dc in next st.
Beginning increase (beg inc): Ch 7, dc in same st.
End increase (end inc): Ch 2, dtr in same st.
Beginning decrease (beg dec): Sl st in each of first 4 sts.
End decrease (end dec): Leave last 3 sts unworked.
Picot shell: (3 dc, ch 5, sl st in top of last dc made, 3 dc) in indicated sp.
Strap
Row 1: Ch 14, dc in 8th ch from hook, [ch 2, sk next 2 chs, dc in next ch] twice, turn. (3 mesh)
Rows 2-59: Work according to the graph of your choice below, using Special Stitches as needed, turn.
Border
Working across short edge, ch 1, sc in top of last dc, *[picot shell (see Special Stitches) in next corner, sc in next corner] twice, working across 1 long edge, [shell in next row, sk next row, sc in top of the st on next row, sk next row] 16 times, picot shell in next row, sc in next corner, [shell in next corner, sc in next corner] twice, shell in next mesh*, sc in next corner, rep between *, join with sl st in beg sc. Fasten off.
Weave ribbon through ribbon bars.
