Halloween Cozies

Finished Size

Each Cozy is 4" tall x 2 1/2" in diameter.

Materials For All Four

• Worsted-weight yarn — 1 1/2 oz. orange, 1 oz. each lavender and white, small amount each yellow, black, lime green and med. green
• 4 black 1/2" flat buttons
• 2 lime 5/8" flat buttons
  One black 7/8" flat button
• Tapestry needle
  H crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge

7 sc = 2"; 4 sc rows = 1"

Ghost Cozy

NOTE: Do not join rnds unless otherwise stated. Mark first st of each rnd.
Rnd 1: With white, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6 sc).
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12).
Rnd 3: (2 sc in next st, sc in next st) around (18).
Rnd 4: (2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts) around (24).
Rnd 5: (2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts) around (30).
Rnd 6: Working this rnd in back lps only, sc in each st around.
Rnds 7-19: Sc in each st around. At end of last rnd, join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 20: Ch 1; working left to right, reverse sc in each st around, join, fasten off.

Finishing

1. For eyes, with black, sew 2 black 1/2" buttons 1/8" apart over rnds 14-16 at a slight angle.
2. For mouth, with black, sew 7/8" black button centered below eyes over rnds 10-12.
3. With black, using Straight Stitch, embroider eyebrows over each eye as shown in photo.

Pumpkin Cozy

With orange, work same as Ghost Cozy.

Finishing

1. For eyes, with black, sew 2 black 1/2" bottons 1/8" apart over rnds 13-15 at a slight angle.
2. With black, using Backstitch (see illustration), embroider mouth over rnds 10-11 as shown in photo.
3. Fold 6" piece of med. green in half, insert hook around center st between eyes on rnd 17, draw fold through, draw loose ends through fold, trim ends to 3/4".

Monster Cozy

With lavender, work same as Ghost Cozy.

Finishing

1. For eyes, with lime, sew 2 lime buttons 1/8" apart over rnds 14-16 at a slight angle.
2. With black, using Backstitch (see illustration), embroider mouth over rnds 10-11 as shown in photo.
3. Fold 6" piece of orange in half, insert hook around st on one side of eyes, draw fold through, draw all loose ends through fold, trim ends to 2".

Repeat on other side of eyes.

Candy Corn Cozy

Rnds 1-9: With yellow, repeat same rnds of Ghost Cozy. At end of last rnd, join wth sl st in first sc, fasten off.
Rnd 10: Join orange with sc in first st, sc in each st around.
Rnds 11-17: Sc in each st around. At end of last rnd, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off.
Rnd 18: Join white with sc in first st, sc in each st around.
Rnd 19: Sc in each st around, join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 20: Repeat same rnd of Ghost Cozy.
