Turn old-timey buttons found in your favorite antique shop or grandma's sewing box into fun, fashionable jewelry with the addition of some quick, wasy crochet!

Glittery Bracelet

Skill Level
Intermediate

Finished Size
1 1/4 inches wide x 8 inches long

Materials
  • Universal Yarns Nazli Gelin Garden size 10 metallic crochet cotton (306 yds per ball):
    • 25 yds #15 black with silver metallic
  • Aunt Lydia's Fashion Crochet size 3 crochet cotton (150 yds per ball):
    • 50 yds #775 warm rose
  • Size F/5/3.75mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Buttons: 1 large and 1 small

Gauge
6 dc = 1 inch

Pattern Note
Chain-3 at beginning of row or round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Bracelet
  • Row 1: With warm rose, ch 37, dc in 5th ch from hook (first 3 chs count as first dc), dc in each ch across, turn. (35 dc)
  • Rows 2 & 3: Ch 3 (see Pattern Note), dc in each st across, turn. At end of last row, fasten off.
  • Rnd 4: Join black/silver with sc in first st, fptr around dc on row 2, sk st behind fptr, [sc in next st, sk next st on row 2, fptr around next st on row 2, sk next st behind fptr] across to end, working in ends of rows evenly sp 8 sc across, working in starting ch on opposite side of row 1, [fptr around same st on row 2 as last fptr, sk next ch, sc in next ch] across, evenly sp 8 sc across end, join in beg sc, ch 13 (button lp), turn, sl st in first sc on same end. Fasten off.
  • Sew small button to end opposite button lp.
  • Sew large button to center as shown in photo.
  • Crochet!

Purple & Black Bracelet

  • Omega La Espiga size 9 crochet nylon (7 oz/339 yds per roll):
    • 50 yds #9 purple
    • 25 yds #19 black
  • Size F/5/3.75mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Buttons: 1 large and 1 small

Gauge
6 dc = 1 inch

Bracelet
  • Row 1: With purple, ch 35, dc in 4th ch from hook (first 3 chs count as first dc), dc in each ch across, turn. (33 dc)
  • Rnd 2: [Ch 5, sk next st, sc in next st] across, ch 5, working in end of row 1, sc around last dc, ch 5, working in starting ch opposite side of row 1, sc in first ch, [ch 5, sk next ch, sc in next ch] across, ch 5, working in end of row 1, sc around first dc, ch 5, join in first ch of beg ch-5. Fasten off.
  • Rnd 3: Join black with sc in end ch sp, sc in same ch sp, 2 sc in next ch sp on end, ch 3, sc in next ch sp, [ch 3, sc in next ch sp] across to end, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch sp, ch 5 (button lp), (sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch sp, [ch 3, sc in next ch sp] across, ch 3, join in beg sc. Fasten off.
  • Sew small button to end opposite button lp.
  • Sew large button to center as shown in photo.
  • Crochet!

Coral & Black Bracelet

Materials

    • 25 yds #19 black
  • Size F/5/3.75mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Buttons: 1 large and 1 small

Gauge

Bracelet
  • Row 1: With coral, ch 37, dc in 4th ch from hook (first 3 chs count as first dc), dc in each ch across, turn. (35 dc)

  • Rnd 5: Join black with sc in first st, fptr around dc on row 2, sk st behind fptr, [sc in next st, sk next st on row 2, fptr around next st on row 2, sk next st behind fptr] across to end, working in ends of rows, evenly sp 8 sc across, working in starting ch on opposite side of row 1, [fptr around same st on row 2 as last fptr, sk next ch, sc in next ch] across, evenly sp 8 sc across end, join in beg sc, ch 13 (button lp), turn, sl st in first sc on same end. Fasten off.
  • Turn Bracelet over so the coral sts are facing RS. Sew small button to end opposite button lp.
  • Sew large button to center as shown in photo.
  • Crochet!
